Bonna Lynn Finkelstein

Bonna Lynn Finkelstein is a Magna Cum Laude graduate from both Princeton University and Boston University School of Law. In her class of 113 she won the American Jurisprudence Award for the highest grade in both Contracts and Constitutional Law classes. Upon graduation she clerked for Hon. Raymond J. Pettine, Chief Judge, U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island. After working as a litigation associate at Sullivan & Cromwell in New York City, Bonna served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Criminal Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey. While there, she had the honor of working with current Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito and former Homeland Security Chief Michael Chertoff. Bonna’s work as a federal prosecutor included prosecuting criminal cases involving civil rights violations, bank robberies, child pornography, wire and mail fraud, designer drugs, narcotics, firearms, threats to the President and threats in federal airspace. She supervised wiretaps, drafted search warrants, briefed and argued constitutional, procedural and evidentiary issues in Federal District and Circuit Court of Appeals in addition to coordinating investigations with the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms Agency, the United States Post office and the United States Marshall’s Office. Bonna presented information to federal grand juries and obtained indictments while also facilitating plea agreements. Part of her work entailed coordinating federal civil rights prosecutions with the U.S. Department of Justice’s Criminal Division.

Joel Finkelstein

Joel S. Finkelstein is graduate of Franklin and Marshall College and Boston University School of Law. He has practiced primarily in the personal injury field for over 45 years. Joel began his career in New York City where he drafted contracts, leases and wills and handled real estate transactions. He spent several years as a litigator at a law firm in West Orange, New Jersey before being appointed a senior trial attorney in the staff counsel’s office of a major insurance company where he defended personal injury actions. He came to Orange County in 1992 when he began exclusively representing injured persons in personal injury and malpractice cases as a partner in one of the county’s largest law firms.

Joel's credentials rival those of the most active metropolitan New York attorneys. He is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Florida. Joel is currently an active member of the American Bar Association, American Association for Justice , New York State Trial Lawyers Association, New York, New Jersey Massachusetts and Florida State Bar Associations and the Orange County Bar Association.

Benjamin Greenwald

Benjamin Greenwald, is a highly recognized criminal defense attorney. After admission to the New York State Bar in 2001, he was subsequently admitted to the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Federal Districts in New York. For the last decade, he has defended cases in Orange, Ulster, Sullivan and Bronx counties, throughout greater New York, and in various other states including Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Florida.

Mr. Greenwald has conducted numerous trials at the county, state, and federal levels, as well as argued appeals in both the appellate term and the appellate division. His previous work included working for mental hygiene legal services, and this, coupled with his background in psychology, enabled Mr. Greenwald to be one of an elite handful of criminal defense attorneys to have ever successfully defended a case using an insanity plea

Outside of work, Mr. Greenwald has served on the board of ADAC (Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Council) of Orange County. He has also been involved in politics and a variety of political organizations in the Hudson Valley, reaffirming his commitment to the greater Orange County community.

Kristin Farris

Ms. Farris earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Binghamton University, in Binghamton, NY. She was awarded her Juris Doctor degree and received a certificate in litigation from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan.

Ms. Farris has previously worked at the Washtenaw County Public Defenders Office in Ann Arbor, Michigan defending individuals for crimes ranging from violations to felonies, while also performing as a guardian ad litem to children. Also, she previously worked at the Orange County Attorney's Office, Family Court Division, in Goshen, NY working specifically with juvenile delinquents, persons in need of supervision, and prosecuting abuse and neglect cases. These experiences have provided Ms. Farris with the opportunity to become familiar with the criminal, juvenile and family court systems. Her knowledge, coupled with her passion in these areas of law, continue to allow Ms. Farris to fight for justice.

Ms. Farris was admitted to the New York State Bar in 2010 and is a proud member of both the New York Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
